Due to the different structures of various fibers, the coloring reaction of iodine and potassium iodide solution is different, so the fiber can be identified by observing the color and swelling situation of the fiber after the action of the reagent. This discrimination is only true for white fibers, and the colored fibers are faded before testing. Reagent preparation: dissolve 20 grams of iodine in 100 ml of saturated potassium iodide solution, and then soak the fiber for 1 minute. After full washing, judge according to its color, see Table 3.
