On February 28, Beijing time, the sixth United Nations Environment Conference was held in Nairobi, Kenya. More than 4,000 countries attended the meeting to discuss global environmental governance under the framework of multilateralism. At the invitation of the United Nations Environment Programme, the Zhejiang Huzhou delegation attended the meeting. At the event, Zhejiang Huzhou, as the only municipal representative in China, delivered a keynote speech on the practice of tackling climate change and biodiversity conservation. The United Nations Environment Conference is the highest decision-making mechanism for global environmental issues, and aims to stimulate global collective action to address challenges such as climate change, pollution and ecosystem degradation. The theme of this conference is "Taking Effective, inclusive and sustainable Multilateral actions to combat climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution".
As a demonstration area for international cooperation on ecological civilization and a charming city with biological diversity, Zhejiang Huzhou attended the conference and discussed how to further build political consensus on the implementation of the initiative, and hoped to jointly carry out effective, inclusive and sustainable global biodiversity conservation actions through cooperation and exchanges.

During the meeting, the delegation from Huzhou, Zhejiang, held talks with Ms.Elizabeth Morema, Deputy Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme. During the talks and exchanges, the delegation of Huzhou, Zhejiang province introduced the experience of Huzhou taking the lead in implementing the initiative of "replacing plastic with bamboo" and promoting the practice of "replacing plastic with bamboo". Ms.Mrema fully affirmed the vivid practice of Huzhou's concept that "clear waters and green mountains are golden mountains of gold and silver", and recognized the construction of an international cooperation demonstration zone for ecological civilization. She believes that the "substituting bamboo for plastic" can effectively avoid plastic pollution in cities, and the relevant experience is worth promoting.
